What is Work-Related Asthma (WRA)?

Work-Related Asthma (WRA)

Work-related asthma is a serious breathing disease that is caused by or made worse (exacerbated) by something in your workplace. There are two types of work-related asthma:

  1. Work-Exacerbated Asthma (WEA)
  2. Occupational Asthma (OA)

Work-Exacerbated Asthma (WEA)

Work-exacerbated asthma happens when your existing asthma gets worse due to exposures and conditions in your work environments.  Learn more about work-exacerbated asthma

Occupational Asthma (OA)

Occupational asthma happens when a person, who (usually) did not previously have asthma, develops asthma due to exposures in the work environment.  Learn more about occupational asthma.
